From the birth of Christians in Antioch mentioned in Acts 11, God began grafting together Jews and Gentiles in new ways. As disciples like Peter, Paul and Barnabas went throughout the Holy Land preaching and full of the Holy Spirit, many came to believe in the Messiah.
The Holy Land holds rich roots and spiritual genealogy of our faith. This is the place where Yeshua preached to the masses and performed miracles. Its significance is immense, yet despite this birthplace of our beliefs, some in the Body of Christ have yet to dig into their heritage.
It is in fact, part of God’s plan to reveal the depth of the Promised Land and the fullness of Israel’s restoration to the Body of Christ, in order that they may partner with Him to bring the message hope and love to the Jewish people.
“Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off…. For I do not desire, brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until for the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all of Israel will be saved…”—Romans 11:22, 25-26
Because of the sacrifice Yeshua made on the cross we have a hope that surpasses all understanding. It should exude from our hearts, overflowing into actions of faith, to spread the love of Christ, especially to God’s first love, the nation of Israel.
Here are a few of God’s promises about the land…
- “The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it…Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate…”—Ezekiel 36:34, 36
- “…And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice…”—Isaiah 35:1, 2
- “…and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”—Acts 3:20-21
God is going to fulfill these promises, as He cannot lie. The question becomes how are we, as the Body of Christ, going to answer the call to partner in the fulfillment? Prayerfully consider how the Lord will lead you to give; blessing others, so that you might be blessed.
“I will bless those who bless you [Israel], and I will curse him who curses you;”—Genesis 12:3
Sow seeds of peace in the nation of Israel and be amazed and humbled as God uses YOU to accomplish His mission of restoration today.
