When we walk with God, looking to Him for guidance and help in all things, He is there for us. It is as Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
God is always willing to guide us, to teach us, but we must first be willing to ask, seek, and knock. Yes, God will continually supply our basic needs—even if we do not ask, seek, and knock—but we are meant to be more than conquerors. We are meant to overcome and rise above, not through our man-made efforts, but through prayer… through God.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”—Psalm 19:14
When our hearts and mouths speak in unison with God, our strength and Redeemer, mighty things happen. The enemy cannot win against God—that is fact—and God is in us! He has given us the power to speak out that which is in Heaven so that it might be made manifest on the earth.
No other creation God made has the ability to speak. No other being was made in the image of God. God SPOKE us into being and it was so. He gave us breath, and life, and a voice so that we might walk in His ways. Being like Him… Talking like Him.
Adam was given the AUTHORITY to SPEAK into the lives of all God’s creations. Adam SPOKE forth names to each creature and in that their very nature was crafted. God allowed Adam to speak like Him. Like the Creator of all.
In this we should not grow cocky or proud. God is the one who gave us this beautiful gift to speak as He does. And we, through man’s fall in the Garden, misuse this gift. We speak idle words, ones not from Heaven. We speak doubt, unbelief, and all forms of words and ideas not from God.
“[F]or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”—Romans 3:23
“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”—Matthew 12:36
Indeed, we are not worthy of the gift of speaking like our Father in Heaven. Yet, it is through that gift we can find life. It is in God’s goodness—in allowing us to speak with the authority of Heaven, through the Blood of Jesus circumcising our hearts—that we can reverse the curse and redeem that which has been lost.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”—Proverbs 18:21
“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.”—Proverbs 18:20
When we speak Life—when we speak the Word of God—we are not only satisfied, we are filled with Life and filled with God’s goodness. So many gifts are ours by right, yet, because of words spoken without thought, many are held ransom by the enemy. The enemy only holds authority over those things contrary to God. If we speak contrary to God, we become contrary to God… And nothing contrary to God can have the blessings of God in their vessels—new wine cannot be put into an old wineskin.
“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”—Mark 2:22
Therefore, if we are to win against the enemy who oppresses us, we are to speak life. We are to speak that which God shows us—that which is good, and pleasant. We are to fix our eyes on our Father. And, the Word itself is a wonderful place to begin doing that.
“… For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”—Matthew 12:34
When we allow our hearts to speak words straight from the Throne Room of God, chains break. We become more like our Father AND our words—in alignment with The Word—speak life and joy on our behalf.
We are to speak the things that God desires into existence. We are to focus upon our Father and those things that are of Him.
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”—John 7:38
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”—Philippians 4:8
Unlike the world, we are not simply supposed to meditate, or say what we want five times until it comes to pass. We are to think on those things which are of God—meditate on His Word and ways. We are to speak life. We are to lift up those around us and bear good fruit through words straight from Heaven coming to pass.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”—Matthew 7:15-20
Therefore, let us speak the words of the Lord. Let us inquire of God and then, upon hearing, seeing, and knowing, speak forth that life. The power of life and death has been placed within the very breath of our words. Let us not waste that breath. Let us walk in power and authority against the enemy who tries to oppress us; oppressing him through words of God given LIFE!
“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.’
“And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.’”—Luke 10:17-20
We have been given great authority through the Name of Jesus to speak like God. Yet, it is our redemption through His Blood—our name written in the books of Heaven—that is our greatest joy.
To speak and cause the enemy to tremble is a great gift—a necessary responsibility in the days we are entering. Yet, it is also a tool. A tool for Kingdom purposes, so that we, and those around us, might know God. That through God’s words spoken out of us, through the mighty power of the Blood and Name of Jesus, all might be saved.
“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”—Luke 15:10
Rejoice then. Rejoice! For we are written in the books of Heaven. Rejoice and speak forth life, that we, and all God’s children, might be saved. The hour is late, the harvest white for the picking, but the laborers are few.
Let us walk and speak as God’s harvesters. Let us walk with authority and courage knowing that when we speak the Blood and Name of Jesus and all that is of God, the enemy cannot win!
The enemy will not win against us and we will SPEAK LIFE to the harvest!
“Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.’”—Luke 10:2-3
