An Everlasting Gift

Chag Sameach (Happy Holidays!)

This time of year is a time of reflection on the hope we have in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the ultimate gift of love—Yeshua. The story of Hanukkah IS connected to Yeshua, and applicable to us today. The story of Hanukkah mirrors our lives as the Body of Christ—that God provides what we need so His light continues to shine!

In John 9:5, Yeshua identifies Himself with Hanukkah as the Servant who brings the Light. The center candle of the Hanukkiah (the nine-branched menorah) is referred to as the “Shammas,” or “Servant” candle—the one candle that provides light for all eight.

We can get wrapped up in holiday gift giving to the point it takes away from the season. Instead, we can sow into something bigger than ourselves, passing on a legacy to our family. As you give a holiday gift this season, consider sponsoring an olive tree.

Here are some reasons why you might consider choosing a tree sponsorship as a gift:

The Father gives us wisdom in His Word about how and why we should give and sow:

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”—2 Corinthians 9:6-8

There is a release of blessings when your heart is cheerful in the act of giving. There is both spiritual and material rewards. He promises to provide for your every need.

Trust in the Lord today, pray that the Holy Spirit guides your heart to align with God’s divine plan, both for you and His chosen people.
