Webster’s dictionary defines the term Legacy as, “Something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor from the past.” At My Olive Tree (MOT) we actually explain it in more simple terms… When you ask us to define legacy, we’ve been known to say, “A Gift Bigger than the Giver.”
That is our mission here at MOT. We desire, like you do, to leave something behind on this planet that is lasting, both in our families and in a larger part, to the world.
Leaving a legacy that matters is no easy task. There are millions of charities and philanthropic endeavors… so many that weeding through them all, to find the perfect one that suits our own personal values is difficult at best.
We get it, we’ve been there…
In Matthew 13:3-9 Jesus spoke directly to this topic:
“Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: ‘Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!’”
If you are anything like us, you have the heart to give, but a desire to see it reap a full return on your initial investment. We cannot begin to tell you how disappointed we are when we see the use of donated funds being poorly used, or worse yet, being abused altogether. This is tragic!
That is why we are making you a promise…
At My Olive Tree, we are committed to living our lives based upon biblical principles, empowered by the Holy Spirit, walking hand-in-hand with our heavenly Father. We do not take the responsibility of nurturing your legacy lightly.
We also believe in reaping a 100-fold blessing for the return of your investment. Therefore, we sow into the nation of Israel—the apple of God’s eye. We know that in blessing Israel, we will reap a reward. We sow to reap a harvest so that we can go and plant greater things to come.
“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you, and in you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”—Genesis 12:3
At My Olive Tree, we are committed to being a voice for the Jewish people. We are committed to partner with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as He continues to restore His people back into their ancestral homeland.
We guarantee it…
Over and over we have given our word, alongside others, to this tiny nation surrounded by many enemies. Many times, we have been the only ones who follow through in the end. Where others have only planted trees in the desert, we have watered and nurtured the plants into adulthood. Where others have said, “No”… we continue to say emphatically, “Yes! But how can we do it even better than before?”
Because our organization has been faithful to do as the City of Jerusalem requests in excellence, a unique partnership has been birthed. They have trusted us with one of their deepest needs… Job creation.
Millions of Jewish men, women, and children continue to immigrate to the nation of Israel regularly. The growth of the population continues to double and triple at rapid speeds. This influx of people has made jobs scarce, to say the least.
By planting trees in the desert, My Olive Tree can provide jobs to those in need. We choose to nurture our trees and sustain them over the seven-year maturation process needed so that they can reap a bountiful harvest for hundreds of years to come. This, too, creates sustainable positions for the unemployed.
The proceeds from the harvest of these trees provide profits that can then be sewn into the many humanitarian aid projects we support: Safe Homes for young adults; medical equipment, meals, and home repairs for Holocaust Survivors; much needed food boxes to Needy Soldier’s families.
We need your help…
We are passionate about the work that we do in the nation of Israel. We believe in leaving a legacy that will last. We believe in partnering with God our Father, whose heart for the Jewish people has never stopped beating. He truly is a good Father, who cares that the prophecies of restoration spoken in both the Old and New Testaments will be fulfilled.
