While the bulk of our focus at My Olive Tree is on supporting the people of Israel in their efforts to grow their economy and find sustainable agriculture and income, we also support other projects throughout the Middle East and Africa, one of which is the growth of moringa trees at tree farms in Togo, Africa.
The moringa oleifera plant is one of the world’s most nutrient-rich plants. It has often been referred to by numerous cultures as the “miracle tree” because of its incredible nutritional value. Moringa contains a significant amount of important vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, which promote health benefits.
Such nutrients are known to promote:
• Healthier, more stable joints
• A stronger immune system
• Cleansing of the internal organs and systems inside your body
• A better balance of the function of your thyroid glands
• Greater support to promote healthier gums
• Natural replacement for dark, leafy green vegetables when they are either unavailable or unpalatable
Moringa has traditionally grown in harsh, dry climates throughout the Middle East and Africa, and until recent years it had not been important to the Western world in very large quantities. However, in a part of the world where so many people suffer from malnutrition, moringa has been one of the few available food sources to give starving people nearly all of the vitamins and minerals they need to put into their bodies every day — hence the “miracle tree” moniker.
There have even been studies indicating that moringa seeds can help to purify water for drinking. While these studies have not yet been conclusive, there is plenty of research currently being done about it and should it indeed prove moringa’s effectiveness in water purification, it could be a game changer for impoverished countries with a lack of drinking water availability.
For these reasons, we are pleased to support the work of Dead Sea Moringa in growing trees at their moringa farms in Togo. If you are interested in lending your support to this project as well, contact us at My Olive Tree today for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a partnership between the Evangelical community and the nation of Israel; this partnership will produce employment, income, and revenue for humanitarian aid projects in Israel. We envision the planting of one-million olive trees over the next seven years. This relationship was prophesied in the Bible centuries ago, that the foreigners and strangers (those not of Jewish descent) would help rebuild the walls of Israel and cause the desert to bloom (Isa 35:1). Among other things, this reforestation is an environmental blessing for the entire region. May all who participate in this project be blessed body, soul and spirit; it is time for you to take root in Israel!
