Church Planting for Resurrection Sunday

Church planting is commonly heard of in Christian communities. By definition, it means establishing an organized body of Believers in a particular location. Church planting is rooted in the goal to glorify the Lord as a community and to spread the Good News—the Word of God.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…”Matthew 28:19-20

Have you ever thought about planting as a church?

Traditionally, church planting involves groups of Believers starting a new congregation. However, there are ways that your local church community can further the Kingdom of God by making a significant physical mark in the Holy Land of Israel.

As Resurrection Sunday approaches, the significance of Jerusalem and the Holy Land is magnified. Believers can actually plant an olive tree right in the Promised Land this Resurrection Sunday! The soil that Yeshua’s feet touched, and where He will return again to reign, can possess an olive tree sponsored by your church congregation!

“…For the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem and before His elders, gloriously.”—Isaiah 24:23

More and more the Body of Christ is coming together to stand with the nation of Israel. They are supporting, standing, investing and praying for the Hebrew nation. God does promise blessings to flow from the decision to honor this nation.

“I will make you [Israel] a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”—Genesis 12:2-3

As Believers discover more about the Jewish roots of their Christian faith, the covenant promises made to their spiritual forefathers are seen in a different light. The promises God made to the Jewish people, His children, still stand. Let us not forget the Lord made it possible for Believers to be grafted into His family through the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

When Believers choose to invest spiritually, economically and politically into the nation of Israel, it is fulfilling prophecy. This is all part of God’s plan to restore and reconcile Jew, Gentile and all nations. Biblically, Israel is the “chosen people of God,” and is dearly loved by Him. Therefore, being Believers in Christ and His work on the cross, we are also called to support and love them dearly.

God’s Promise of Restoration for Jews and Gentiles

God has set Israel apart to be His people: For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.”—Deuteronomy 7:6-8

God grafted Gentiles into His family: “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: ‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is My covenant with them,
when I take away their sins.’”
—Romans 11:25-27

God restores the people and land of Israel: “‘For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’”—Jeremiah 30:3

Consider your local congregation coming together with other Believers around the world to stand with the Jewish people this Resurrection Sunday.

What a message of hope this would send to Israel!

This is taking the Great Commission and bringing it full circle, back to the children of God… and fulfilling prophecy!

Now that we understand why sowing a seed of hope into the children of Israel is so important for the Body of Christ, you can see how our various projects bless this nation as they:

Your congregation can plant a tree as a living memorial to someone who has touched your life, or who was an inspiring teacher of the Word in your congregation. When you honor these lives in the Holy Land with an olive tree that thrives on average for 500 years, their legacy and message can be passed on to future generations.

We ask that you prayerfully consider joining with My Olive Tree as you plant for a nation, provide seeds of hope, become a part of fulfilling prophecy, and truly become blessed of the Lord! We would love to talk to you more about our projects and how you can get involved. Contact us today.
