We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some incredible people in Israel to develop our olive tree groves. This entire project has given us a chance to help reclaim the desert and fulfill scripture, all while giving local Israelis greater economic opportunities and more jobs.
Much of our work at My Olive Tree relies on sponsorships from people like you. An initial investment can cover the entire first seven years of an olive tree’s life, during which it will grow quickly and begin to bear fruit. Each year our harvests are getting larger and larger, thanks to the many incredibly generous people who have donated to our cause.
Here are a few of the most common reasons people sponsor olive trees through My Olive Tree:
- To support the people of Israel. Israeli citizens, it seems, are constantly going through hard times, living under perpetual fear of attack from Palestinian terrorists. The more jobs we are able to provide for the people of Israel through these tree groves, the more we can help remove some of these hardships.
- To commemorate a loved one. Many people sponsor olive trees in the name of a loved one, whether it’s someone who has passed away, to commemorate a special occasion (such as a birthday, baptism, graduation or marriage), or to simply show appreciation.
- To contribute to a greater cause. If you have ever had a hard time choosing a charitable cause to which you want to give your money, My Olive Tree has the benefits of not only contributing to a great cause, but also allowing you to give a gift that continues to give every single year. Your initial investment plants a seed that will be reaped throughout the entire life of your tree. This could be a very, very long time—there are some olive trees in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region that are thousands of years old.
- To support the Israeli military. We are fortunate to have a unique partnership with the Israeli military, in which they supply water to our groves. This allows our trees to fully mature and gives the members of the military a chance to give back to their local community.
