Give Your Father a Gift Worthy of a King!
What do you plan on giving your father this Father’s Day? Are you in need of some unique gift ideas because the tools you get him every year are filling up the garage? Our fathers are often the builders of our homes, our families, and our lives. They are also the God-ordained spiritual leaders of our families.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”—Deuteronomy 6:6-7
In ancient times, the king’s oil was a spiritual tool used to anoint kings, priests, and leaders of the church, as well as sacred objects therein. Unlike other oils, the king’s oil was made of the finest ingredients and spices, including cinnamon and myrrh so that the distinct scent of the oil would stay with everything that it blessed.
This Father’s Day, give dad a unique gift worthy of a true king: give him a gift that will bring him ever closer to God…
It serves as a reminder for the wearer of the commitment and surrender to God.
However, due to some interpretations of Exodus 30, “the king’s oil has long been forbidden from even the most devout believers because they are not priests or ‘kings.’”
But now God has blessed us with the awareness of a deeper meaning of the scripture. Now we understand that through our redemption, through our commitment and faith in Jesus Christ, we have all been granted authorization to use the sacred King’s Oil:
“[Jesus Christ]…has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
—Revelation 1:6
Through faith in Christ, our fathers are kings, and they are authorized to use this oil!

How to Use the King’s Oil
Before prayer, we apply the King’s Oil to the back of the neck and echo the words of Isaiah… “We decree that this neck will not be under the yoke of bondage of any family hexes, vexes, or curses.”
Then we apply the same oil to the forehead and say, “You are renamed of the Lord,” to signify that we have been redeemed and made kings and priests through our faith, and that we are also submitting ourselves, our names, and our bodies to the will of God.

6 Ways Your Father Can Use the King’s Oil
1) To Fully Surrender and Commit to God
As Isaiah spoke, the anointing oil is what breaks the yoke of the enemy and enables the user to submit himself to the service of the Lord freely. The sweet, holy scent of the King’s Oil is used with the decrees to release the yoke, and chain-breaking power. The scent lingers so that we may be free of temptation and reminded of our commitment.
“It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”—Isaiah 10:27
2) To Pray for the Well-being of his Children
Nothing is more precious to a father than his children. When we pray for the things that are most important to us, we use the King’s Oil to show God that we are making a special request and a special commitment. Your father can use the King’s Oil to pray for his children and show God that the entire family is committed to His service, as well as asking God for His protection and guidance.
“And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations.’”—Exodus 30:31
3) To Reconnect with the Roots of the Church
By bringing back this ancient practice of using the King’s Oil we are connecting with the origins of our faith and restoring traditions that have been lost but are now regained thanks to our Lord and Savior. By connecting past to present, we are communicating our eternal relationship with God, and expressing our willingness and desire to continue to build a relationship that brings us ever closer to God.
4) To Anoint the Home
The house your father built may be structurally sound, but what about spiritually? God is ever watching us, and with us, so that we can invite His protection and safety into our homes. What better way to welcome God and fellow Believers than with the scent of holiness? Anointing our houses with the King’s Oil is the perfect finishing touch for any father’s home.
5) To Pray for Prosperity
The richness of the Kings Oil signifies an openness to create wealth and prosperity in life as well. Your father can use the Kings Oil while praying for prosperity in his business and family.
6) To Anoint the Spirit of God Within
Applying the oil to oneself anoints the temple of God within. We are all vessels of God’s doing; our bodies are tools that perform God’s work. For all that our fathers have worked and sacrificed, they do for us and especially for God, because they are physical embodiments of God’s work. We are God’s tools.
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”— Corinthians 3:16
Anoint Your Father with the Ultimate Gift
The King’s Oil is a perfect Father’s Day gift because it honors your father for the work he has done and the hero that he is. Many heroes in the Bible were anointed with the King’s Oil to set them apart from the others.
Make sure your father receives the same honor. Give your father a tool that enables him to continue building an even greater connection with God for the whole family.
