Mothers of little ones have their hands full; full of kids, diapers, goldfish and sippy cups. There doesn’t seem to be room for much more. But God has called Believers to serve… so how is a mom to do this exactly? Good news, God wants to be by your side as you serve, never doing it in your own strength, but in His (see Philippians 4:13). God doesn’t always wrap up a mother’s ministry in a nice bow that she has pictured in her head; instead He challenges us to step out in faith, often in ways that make us a little squeamish.
We can be certain that God does have a very important calling for mothers. Psalm 127:3 says, “…children are a heritage form the LORD; the fruit of the womb a reward.” If God gives us a heritage and a gift, we know it’s a pretty big deal. Mothers have a calling to minister and disciple their children. “And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15). When Paul wrote these words to Timothy, whom he considered a son in faith, he knew Timothy had been taught scriptures from his Jewish mother since infancy. When we teach our children God’s Words and ways from childhood, it creates a heart hungry to serve God. We can teach our kids the history of God’s relationship with Israel and the world.
Oftentimes moms want to serve outside of their families and teach their children the importance of service and caring for others. My Olive Tree has great opportunities for moms to serve and pass on the gift of serving to their children! Proverbs 22:6 says to, “Train up your child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Moms, you and your children can sponsor an olive tree planted in the Holy Land! Your olive tree can help provide employment for Israeli families and raise funds for humanitarian projects. As you and your children commemorate an event such as a baptism or even a new family member you can know you and your family are helping to make the desert bloom.
My Olive Tree has also been blessed and gifted to start a vineyard in ancient Edom, now the Negev Desert. Through this process My Olive Tree has been able to be part of God’s prophetic Word in Amos 9:14, to restore Israel, “They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.” What a beautiful picture of God’s work!
Give your child a gift of serving others that makes an economical and humanitarian impact. We invite you and your children, our future generation, to be a part of this amazing opportunity to serve God and His people in the Holy Land for generations to come. We ask that you prayerfully consider sponsoring a tree or a vine in Israel, and to receive blessings as you bless others.
