For example, there are certain standards for cans of ripe olives that the USDA has during inspections. USDA inspectors closely analyze cans of ripe olives to ensure that consumers get the same consistency of taste, freshness and quality, regardless of whether the olives are whole, sliced, wedged, pitted or chopped.
A big part of this consistency is AMS’s Section 8e requirement, which requires that all imports of olives and certain other products meet the same standards for size, quality, grade and maturity as olives grown within the United States must meet. This means that whether olives are grown in California, the Middle East or the Mediterranean region, there are standards in place to ensure that you get consistent quality. This serves both to provide a better customer experience and to level the playing field for olive growers within the United States.
There are also specific standards for olive oil as well. Often, lower-quality oils will market themselves as being “extra virgin olive oils” when

Our Mission
Our mission is to create a partnership between the Evangelical community and the nation of Israel; this partnership will produce employment, income, and revenue for humanitarian aid projects in Israel. We envision the planting of one-million olive trees over the next seven years. This relationship was prophesied in the Bible centuries ago, that the foreigners and strangers (those not of Jewish descent) would help rebuild the walls of Israel and cause the desert to bloom (Isa 35:1). Among other things, this reforestation is an environmental blessing for the entire region. May all who participate in this project be blessed body, soul and spirit; it is time for you to take root in Israel!
