Planting Hope

How can planting a tree or a vine bring hope? How can a simple plant mean so much not only to one person, but to a whole nation?

Join us as we answer these questions and discover how each of us can plant hope in the nation of Israel!

Is it Only a Plant?

Typically the reasons behind tree planting include beautification and carbon reduction, not providing jobs, purpose, or hope… let alone fulfilling biblical prophecies and mandates. This is where My Olive Tree steps in.

Through the support of compassionate people who understand Israel’s biblical importance and desire to fulfill biblical prophecyMy Olive Tree plants olive trees and grape vines in the land of Israel. From Jerusalem to the desert of the Negev we have planted fruit yielding crops, filling the land of Israel not only with beauty and the fulfillment of prophecy, but providing jobs, food, and hope to those most in need.

For those of us with a safe place to live, jobs, and basic necessities, an olive tree or grape vine might not seem like much. But for those who have had incendiary balloons and kites put their properties and families in danger… for those who cannot find work… for those who cannot afford basic necessities… an olive tree or grape vine is a symbol of hope. Because it means that despite the dangers they face or the properties they may have lost in the past… someone cares. Someone is there to help. It is hope because they are not being given a handout, they are being given a livelihood! A future!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”—Jeremiah 29:11

An olive tree. A grape vine. These are not only plants… they are symbols of God’s love. Of hope.

It Does Not Stop There:

Planting an olive tree or grape vine does amazing things for individuals and families, but their purpose does not stop there…

When people are successfully employed they do not require the nation they live in to help them. They can pay taxes to that nation. Strengthening it.

When people are growing olives or grapes they can contribute food to their nation. They can even export goods to other countries.

When people are growing olives or grapes they provide more jobs, even as they themselves work. Because they not only require assistance with the cultivating and harvesting of their crop, but they produce a product which needs processing and even manufacture into saleable products—like olive oil, grape juice, wine, or facial products.

When people plant and sustain them in the desert, not only is biblical prophecy being fulfilled, but the once minimally used land is being put to use. Serving as a symbol of hope to a country where the purpose of every acre needs to be the best it can be.

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. So they will say, “This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.” Then the nations which are left all around you shall know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted what was desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken it, and I will do it.’”—Ezekiel 36:33-36

Yes, those who are blessed with jobs through the planting of olive trees and grape vines find hope in it. And yes, their families are blessed. But it goes beyond them. To the additional jobs that the processing of oil brings. To the purposing of desert regions. To the economic boost of the nation…

It reminds people of God’s love. It reminds them that they are not alone. That He has a purpose for them and will not see them fall. That they are blessed. And that He is still fulfilling covenant promises and prophecies of old!

When you plant a tree through My Olive Tree, you are not only planting hope, you are serving as God’s light on earth!

Ways YOU Can Help:

We are all at different stages of life. Some of us have a lot, while others do not. Yet, God is pleased by the gifts of all. Remember, Jesus was touched deeply by the widow who, out of her poverty, gave all she had. He loves a cheerful giver.

No matter how much you give, God sees your heart and will reward you for doing unto the least of these. For blessing Israel and giving hope!

“Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.’”—Mark 12:41-44

A few of the ways YOU can help plant hope with My Olive Tree include:

Additionally you can help by purchasing products produced in Israel—often from the very produce of these plantings. No matter how you choose to support the people and nation of Israel—be it a sponsorship or buying a product from Israel—your support matters. Because you are planting hope. Because you are serving as God’s light on earth.

Thank you!

“‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord,

‘When the plowman shall overtake the reaper,

and the treader of grapes him who sows seed;

the mountains shall drip with sweet wine,

and all the hills shall flow with it.

I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;

they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them;

they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them;

they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.

I will plant them in their land,

and no longer shall they be pulled up

from the land I have given them,’

says the Lord your God.”
