“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’ For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, ‘Peace be within you.’ Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good.”
—Psalm 122:6-9
God has entrusted the Holy Land of Israel to the Jews. They have fought to reclaim it, and protect it, despite unimaginable challenges, suffering, and sacrifice. They were never alone in this journey, though—God, of course, was with them to guide, provide, and ultimately ensure that His promises would be fulfilled.
The people of the Jewish diaspora found passage to their rightful homeland from all corners of the Earth. Despite several wars against overwhelming odds, the Tabernacle of David will be restored as promised.
God chose the Jewish people because of the ancient covenant He made with them, and also because He knew the Body of Christ would step in to help. Historically speaking, Christians have been instrumental in the establishment of the Jewish State.
- The help of Christians, such as Reverend William Hechler, enabled Theodore Herzl to spread the word of Zionism and the creation of a Jewish state. Hechler was a dear friend of Herzl’s, and is known today as the father of the Christian Zionism and the Judeo-Evangelical alliance.
- It is Evangelicals in the United States who push the government to support Israel. Shortly after President Donald Trump took office, the United States recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s undivided capital.
Guatemala, whose president and the majority of people are Evangelical, was quick to follow, and Christians around the world are beginning to hear the call.
- The Bible instructs the Church to pray for Israel. God brings us together to make miracles happen! As the Jews gather in Israel, we must watch over them and help them prepare for their restoration.
The First Miracle: Establish the Walls
Israel was met with hostile political opposition when it declared itself to be an independent nation in 1948. The country needed not only resources to build the walls of Israel, but also tools to defend them.
The United States has stepped in time and time again to help Israel defend itself, delivering desperately needed supplies in times of need. The recent recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s undivided capital coincided with Israel’s 70th anniversary.
This recognition symbolized the completion of the protective walls that Israel and the United States have built together.
The Current Miracle: The Peace and Prosperity Within
In just seventy years, Israel’s economy is competing with the world’s strongest. Like most nations, the Israeli economy can trace its roots back to agriculture.
For Israel, the economic journey began with communal farms called Kibbutzim. It has since evolved into one of the world’s emerging leaders in computer, military, and medical technology—while also circling back to its roots.
The rapid urban development and crowded cities of Israel have influenced many young Israelis to seek a quieter life on a kibbutz, by joining a modern version or carving their path into the developing Negev Desert.
The future is abundant with opportunity—and investing in Israel’s peace and success will be great for their country, as well as ours. The more we help Israel, the more Israel helps us.
The United States has rushed to Israel’s aid in times of need, and from Hurricane Katrina to Hurricane Harvey, Israel has never hesitated to return the favor. Israel has become one of the world’s fastest, and most frequent, responders to natural disasters and other humanitarian crises. Israel and the United States collaborate efforts, and develop a plethora of technology that helps keeps soldiers safe during battle.
Only God can know what the future holds, but with Israel’s population and economy on the rise, it is more than likely safe to say our future together looks bright.
The Miracle of the Future: God’s Garden Comes to Fruition
What greater purpose could we possibly serve than God? That, above all else, is why we will remain unconditionally loyal to Israel. Regardless of what they have or will give us, we will continue to stand with the Israelis and support the Jewish state.
Fulfilling the prophecies of the Bible is our calling. It is the purpose that God has chosen for all of us who have accepted Him. We all have a part to play in this great miracle, and every contribution counts. Now that we have brought the Jews back to their land, we must restore the land with them!
“The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice…”
—Isaiah 35:1-2
